A few months ago all I wanted was to do the crossing in the Lençóis Maranhenses. To get to know the region, to see live what I had only seen in Ana Carms wonderful photos (@anacarmsexpedicoes). I thought it would only be about taking beautiful pictures, eating well, resting my mind and disconnecting from everything. What I lived went far beyond that. I recharged with a different kind of energy, something strong and very powerful. You manage to connect with yourself, connect with the group and feel welcomed by this excellent company that exceeds anything I could expect. Guilherme Zapa (@zapalai360) was outstanding, joking around, making everything light, helping everyone. It is wonderful to see a professional like that supporting us, and an even better person. It is hard to describe everything he did for all of us. And I admired it all, moment after moment. Andressa (@andressadsreis) completes everything, with a heart bigger than she imagines. Giving herself in every moment. Supporting and being present with the whole group. We were lucky to have this duo with us. I could not have found greater perfection in the work of both. Writing this account brings so much emotion, and the feeling of having been blessed by these days that Ana Carms (@anacarmsexpedicoes) made possible. The group was wonderful, and I had the chance to record beautiful moments lived by everyone. While organising the photos I caught myself amazed and smiling alone. When a friend's mother asked what I was doing, I explained: reviewing the photos and videos and seeing every feeling captured in them. There is no way not to be extremely happy about all of it. The most incredible carnival experience in the world

It was my first solo trip and I could write a whole book about how wonderful this experience was. Ana Carms has an approach to travel that is very different from the conventional one, a proposal of real immersion in the local culture and way of life, always respectfully. In 2026, being without internet for 5 days may sound bizarre and frightening, but in the end you come back grateful and wanting to stay longer. There is a clear reason for that disconnection, and the result for me were the great friends I made on this trip, which certainly would not have happened if we had our phones. The care the women of the agency put into every detail is admirable, and you feel all that affection in the details of everything you live there. Trust them and just go! My experience on this trip to the Amazon was extremely positive. The agency put together a rich programme, with authentic experiences that let me get to know the local culture, the forest, the rivers and the biodiversity of the region in a very special way. The organisation was efficient from planning through to the activities themselves. The outings happened as agreed, the professionals showed real knowledge of the region and there was genuine concern to give travellers a complete experience. What I liked most was the chance to live transformative experiences, such as direct contact with the Amazon, the connection with people from different places and actions that encourage environmental preservation. It was a trip that exceeded my expectations and contributed a great deal to my personal growth. As a suggestion, I would reinforce the importance of always prioritising responsible and sustainable tourism practices, valuing the conservation of the fauna, the flora and the local communities. I also believe one of the days in Presidente Figueiredo could have been better used: we had a long drive to visit a single waterfall, while the region offers several outstanding natural attractions. Perhaps a more optimised route, including other waterfalls or nearby points of interest, would make the experience even richer. I recommend the agency to anyone looking for a genuine Amazon experience, with adventure, learning and connection with nature, and I take the chance to encourage women to travel solo: a trustworthy agency makes all the difference in that turning point.

Vale do Pati: where time rests

It was the right call to escape the carnival noise and look for a deep immersion in the heart of Chapada Diamantina: the Vale do Pati. I realised this sanctuary takes us away not only from the noise of the cities, but from a civilisation that so often distances us from ourselves. There, shared quiet is what allows us to meet our own essence again, carried by the sounds of nature and its monumental beauty. I lived the experience as a balance between the constant challenge of rocky climbs and descents and the delight of discovering magical places. The cliffs reminded me that the line between existing and ending is thin: one wrong step can interrupt the journey, while so many firm steps fill us with life. The forces of nature, showing themselves in the power of the waterfalls and the storms, reveal how small we are. Watching lightning fall nearby is witnessing the world in its purest, rawest state. I feel it was a trip to our ancestry, a routine with fewer comforts but more presence. Meeting nature slows the pace down; time passes more slowly, because it respects natural cycles. For me, in Pati, time rests. Standing before a landscape that reveals millions and millions of years of history offers a profound perspective: on such a vast timeline, we are nothing and everything at once. The difference between life with and without digital connection is striking. It is ironic how the lack of signal connects us far more to the people around us and to ourselves. What is left is meeting yourself and gathering with others to share stories and look at the sky. And what a sky! The absence of light pollution reveals the spectacle of our galaxy, the Milky Way, reminding us that we are dust, not only in our galaxy but among the roughly two trillion of them. And the fireflies, so beautiful, stitching the night with light, complete a scene that feels like a dream. I leave this collective experience understanding how we can live with less. I saw the simplicity of a singular joy in those who face greater hardship with a smile on their face. It is symbolic to live only with the weight you carry on your back and to rediscover the value of a snack shared beside a waterfall, or of a meal cooked on a wood stove, food that warms the soul because it carries the seasoning of the care of the patizeiros. I believe each human being is a universe in themselves. None of this would have the same meaning without the company of the friends the expedition gave me, and without the attentive care of the guides from the Vale do Capão Guides Association (ACV-VC) and Ana Carms Expeditions. Discovering the story, the sensitivity and the humanity each of them carries is what truly gave colour to the days in Pati. Watching the essence of each person reveal itself kilometre after kilometre is wonderful and, on its own, makes every effort of the trip worthwhile. There are lessons that will take time to process. For now, all that remains is the quiet of a strong thank you to those who made the Vale do Pati expedition justify its existence.

Without a doubt, it was the best experience I have ever had! The expedition was simply incredible from beginning to end. Impeccable organisation and an extremely attentive team who know the region deeply and respect the local nature.
